The 8th Theological Symposium at Don Bosco Utume, took inspiration from Pastores Dabo Vobis, the landmark apostolic exhortation of Pope John Paul II, to reflect on the Priestly Identity in our world today. The event gathered theologians, formation guides from various congregations and dioceses, seminarians, clergy, religious men and women and a section of the people of God, to engage in deep reflection on the nature and mission of the Catholic priesthood in the modern world. Topics addressed included the human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral dimensions of priestly formation, as well as the contemporary challenges facing priests in living out their vocation with authenticity, joy, and fidelity. The symposium served as a vital platform for reaffirming the identity of the priest as a man of communion, a shepherd in imitation of Christ, and a witness to hope in today’s complex socio-cultural landscape.
