As Kenya prepared for its 2017 General Elections, Don Bosco Utume hosted its 6th Theological Symposium focusing on “The Church and Politics.” The event explored the Church’s prophetic role in promoting justice, peace, and integrity during politically sensitive times. Speakers examined the relationship between faith and governance, highlighting the Church’s duty to form consciences, advocate for the common good, and remain a moral compass amidst partisanship and electoral tension. The symposium moreover, provided a space for dialogue among theologians, students, and other participants on how the Church can contribute constructively to Kenya’s democratic process while staying faithful to its spiritual mission.
